CEXTON RECORDS was launched in 1984
by John Anello
Jr JD.
After recording a master tape of
original jazz songs, John was unable
to secure a record deal. So he launched
Cexton as a way to get his first LP
"FOR A DANCER" released.
The LP was a huge success, received
national
airplay, and went on to
receive several awards.
Upon this success, John recorded his 2nd LP,
"JACKSON
STREET BEAT", named after the
street he lived on as a child in Newark NJ.
"JACKSON STREET BEAT" surpassed the sales
and airplay of "FOR A DANCER", and also
became a huge hit in Japan.
In 1988, John began to sign other
artists
to the CEXTON label, and switched from the
LP format to CD. There are now over 65 artists
on Cexton Records,
and Cexton CDs are aired
and available throughout the world.
CEXTON RECORDS features many great new
and established
artists. We have Jazz
and Big Band Swing, and also
re-issues of Italian-American Artists
on CD and cassette.
